Jay-Z, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Gayle King, Angie Martinez, and many more celebrities attended music mogul Irv Gotti's funeral on Wednesday. Sources told TMZ that Ja Rule delivered an emotional eulogy for his former label head and friend. The homegoing service was held at Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York, and TMZ says further thar Gotti's body made one last round through his Queens neighborhood where he honed his turntable skills as DJ Irv.
Gotti was declared dead on February 5 at 54 years of age, after a series of diabetes related strokes. He suffered another stroke this week, which rendered him unresponsive and on life support according to AllHipHop. Gotti suffered a stroke last year, and a Gotti rep made a statement to TMZ about the mogul's condition. "Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago," the rep shared. "He has since changed his diet and is eating more healthy. He's been successful in making a full recovery."
