Teddy Riley single-handedly changed the course of urban music in the late 1980's with the creation of "New Jack Swing", a fusion of Hip-Hop percussion with slick R&B synths and live instrumentation. In addition to creating a new genre of music, he worked with Hip-Hop greats such as Doug E. Fresh, Big Daddy Kane, Kool Moe Dee, Heavy D, Spoonie Gee, Redhead Kingpin, and Wrecks N Effect.
As a producer, Riley also revitalized the careers of Bobby Brown, Boy George, James Ingram, Jane Child, and Michael Jackson, all while being a member of his own group, Guy. He announced his upcoming memoir, Remember The Times via IG on yesterday(1/30). The title is a reference to the hit song that he wrote and produced with Michael Jackson for 1991's Dangerous.
