The Doggfather announced via social media on Thursday (5/18) that he just dropped a new single titled “Touch Away” and that a new compilation called A Death Row Summer is on the way. “About to drop this Death Row Summer album,"Snoop said through a cloud of smoke. “New single just dropped last night. We been in the metaverse, now we back in the universe."

Snoop previewed the new single featuring October London.

"Touch Away" is a slow, synth heavy head nodder that contains an interpolation of Freddie Jackson's "Love Is Just A Touch Away". Lyrically Snoop speaks about his recent successes, particularly acquiring Death Row, and being where he wants to be at this point in life. "We ran the whole summer, winter, fall and spring, from Def Jam back to this Death Row thing", Snoop rapped.

Snoop's 2022 started with his performance at the historic Super Bowl LVI Halftime performance with Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige , and the announcement of his acquisition of Death Row Records soon after. Snoop has also been busy in the metaverse and NFT world's. “I want to be the first major (label) in the metaverse, so Death Row will be an NFT”, he declared of Death Row's new focus. Snoop and his son Cordell Broadus have been busy purchasing digital real estate in the metaverse, and Snoop just purchased a stake in Ice Cube's Big3 league. It appears that even bigger things are on the horizon for Snoop Dogg.
