In their recent list of the 'Best Songs Of The 2020's So Far', Pitchfork names Kendrick Lamar's viral Drake diss "They Not Like Us" third best. The list is said to contain the "Greatest songs that moved culture, coined genres, and our still stuck in our heads, from the months before the pandemic to Brat Summer." Other songs from the list include "Poland" by Lil Yachty at #100, "Nevada" by NBA YoungBoy #87, "SZA's "Good Days" at #67, and "A&W" by Lana Del Rey at #1.

Kendrick has been announced as the headliner of the Apple Music Super Bowl 2025 Halftime Show. The halftime concert will be presented by Apple Music, and Jay-Z's Roc Nation will executive produce along with Jesse Collins.

The show airs February 9, live from New Orleans. Super Bowl LIX marks Lamar's second time performing at the Super Bowl Halftime, as he performed in 2022 alongside Dr. Dre,Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige, 50 Cent, and Eminem. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” he said. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Since the announcement several top names in Hip-Hop have voiced disagreement with the choice. Nicki Minaj, Master P, Cam'ron, Baby and others have suggested that Lil Wayne would be a better choice as a native of New Orleans where the Super Bowl is played this year.
