LL COOL J, Nicki Minaj, and Jack Harlow will anchor the 2022 MTV VMAs this year. The three emcees will announce the show’s line-up of performers, presenters and winners, which according to a statement is a "more innovative and unique approach to the traditional ‘host’ gig seen in previous years."
LL COOL J is a previous Video Vanguard Award recipient, having received the award in 1997. He first performed at the VMAs in 1991, the same year he won Best Rap Video for his landmark song, "Mama Said Knock You Out." He last presented at the show in 2000. As for Nicki, she's this year's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award recipient, and has had 17 nominations and five wins total. Rising star, Jack Harlow is tied with Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas for most nominations this year with seven.
