Kendrick has dropped a surprise album, GNX, which features SZA, Kamasi Washington, Jack Antonoff, and more. The album dropped shortly after Lamar posted a video for the title track. The album's first track, "Wacced Out Murals" addresses his ever popular beef with Drake, and the controversy over his selection as the Super Bowl halftime headliner. "Won the Super Bowl, and Nas the only one congratulate me, all these ni**as agitated, I'm just glad they showin' they faces.

Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud, irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down.

"Squabble Up" heavily samples Debbie Deb's 1983 hit "When I hear Music", while the SZA assisted "Luther" contains an interpolation of Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn's "If This World Were Mine". "Reincarnated" sees Lamar spittin' with a 2Pac influenced flow over a piano heavy track. On the 6th installment of the ongoing "Heart"series Lamar takes responsibility for the super group Black Hippy not taking off. "I jog my memory knowing that Black Hippy didn't work 'cus of me, creatively I moved on with new concepts and reach," he spit.
