Andre 3000 has released 7 piano sketches, an instrumental piano album which was recorded before the release of his Grammy nominated 2023 flute album, New Blue Sun. 7 piano sketches was released at 8pm EST last night (5/5), shortly after he arrived in New York City for Met Gala's Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, where he wore a bespoke piano creation by Burberry . The project came about nearly 10 years ago while Andre was staying in Texas with his son, at a house which only had a piano, TV's and beds.

Andre says of the recordings, "The original title for it was ‘The Best Worst Rap Album In History'. It’s jokingly the worst rap album in history because there are no lyrics on it at all. It’s the best because it’s the free-est emotionally and best I’ve felt personally. It’s the best because it’s like a palette cleanser for me.”

Andre will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2025 class as one half of Outkast. This years class also includes Chubby Checker, Thom Bell, Joe Cocker, Sound Garden, The White Stripes, Bad Company, Cyndi Lauper, Carol Kaye, and Lenny Woranker.

Outkast joins Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5, Public Enemy, NWA, LL COOL J, and Missy Elliot as Hip-Hop acts inducted into the prestigious hall. Outkast debuted in 1994 with Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik which peaked at #20 on Billboard 200 and was eventually certified Platinum in the U.S. The duo went on to release five more studio albums, a compilation, and the soundtrack to Idlewild.
