On an upcoming episode of A&E's Origins of Hip-Hop, Eve talks about getting inducted into Ruff Ryders and battling DMX.

"Jimmy Iovine (President of Interscope Records) called and said there's a group called Ruff Ryders and I think you'd be a good fit. You need to go to Yonkers and meet them," Eve explained in a preview clip. "I had to go to Yonkers and I had to basically rap for my life." Ruff Ryders CEO Waah Dean said, "The essence of battling we got it from DMX. He's the God of battling, so anybody that wants to come in, they have to go through a process of battling. Eve explains that she was driven from her hometown of Philly up to Yonkers and was getting a pep talk during the ride.

"It was like getting ready for a prize fight, a match," the "Love Is Blind" MC said.

"Once I got there it was a studio full of dudes. They were like alright put a beat on, lets go." Eve recalled. Swizz Beats was present and recalls: "Everyone was rushing to the room and it was a lot of yellin' and she was just handling everybody and battling Drag and everybody, and she just didnt stop."
