The Apollo Theater is set to honor Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Sean "Diddy" Combs, at its annual Apollo Spring Benefit on June 12.
The event aims to raise funds for the renowned Harlem venue and its non-profit organization, supporting artistic, educational, and community programs. Themed "The Next Movement!," Spike Lee will present Abdul-Jabbar with the Impact Award while Diddy will receive the Icon Award, acknowledging his success in music, fashion, and beyond. The benefit will also honor Warby Parker with the Corporate Award for its industry leadership in eyewear.
Gladys Knight, Stout, and Wyclef Jean are scheduled to perform, with Ray Chew returning as the musical director. D-Nice will serve as the event's DJ and host the after-party. MC Lyte, who will be at the Rock The Bells Festival on Aug. 5 in Queens, is also slated to perform.
