The Roots announced the due to unforeseen circumstances, Diddy will not be performing at this year's Root's Picnic, and he'll be replaced by Usher.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, we regret to announce, that Diddy will not be rocking with us this year at The Roots Picnic.
However, we got you," they wrote on Instagram. "You know we are always going to put the city on our back and have your best interest at heart. We never want to let the city down. So not to be outdone… For his first East Coast performance since starting his sold out Vegas Residency…"
In addition to Usher, Little Brother, DJ Drama, Busta Rhymes, Lil Uzi Vert, Eve, Kindred & The Family Soul, The Isley Brothers, Ari Lennox, Adam Blackstone and more are also slated to appear at the popular annual festival. This year's Picnic will also feature a State Property Reunion featuring Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Young Gunz, Peedi Crack, and Oschino and Sparks. Dave Chapelle will also host Friday Night Comedy at Wells Fargo.
The festival is described as "three days of black culture, music, comedy, and podcasts in one of the most beautiful cities in the world," and will also feature a podcast stage with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and Questlove Supreme.
The Roots Picnic takes place June 2-4 in Philadelphia.
