Kurupt and Daz of Tha Dogg Pound appeared as guests on the most recent episode of Big Boy's Neighborhood, where they discussed their early Death Row Records career. Kurupt explained that Interscope Records was reluctant to release Dogg Food, the groups debut project.

"Suge really took it on personally to get that project completed and done," he said. "He gave us everything we needed, because Interscope just wanted to deal with Dre and Snoop."

Kurupt explained that Suge went to Priority Records to seek distribution. "It was Rage's turn at the time, and "Afro Puffs" was number one from Death Row," he recalled. Daz added that he produced "Afro Puffs". "We had that beat first for Deion Sanders," he revealed. "We had a song with Deion Sanders for that [beat], and something didn't work, then Rage came."
