Season 3 of Wu-Tang: an American Saga has been one of the better seasons of the Emmy-nominated Hulu Series.

Episode 8, Liquid Swords, is the third "allegorical movie" of the season, and its the most entertaining and creative by far. The RZA-written and directed episode chronicles GZA, who takes on the persona of "The Genius," as he journeys through an alternate reality NYC to unite Hip-Hop fans who have been poisoned by dangerous music distributed by culture vultures. GZA frees the people using music from his "Liquid Swords" album.

The episode contains many elements from various kung fu movies, with Mad Max-type scenarios. RZA and Divine's sister Shurrie played by Zolee Griggs broadcasts coded rhymes over private radio waves to awaken any people who may be listening and to summon a hero to free the people. The episode ends with a reenactment of the battle depicted on GZA's Liquid Swords album. Many of the album's biggest hits including "Labels," "Duel of The Iron Mic," and "Shadowboxin'" are featured in the episode.

The first allegorical movie in season three was Dirty Dancin' which saw Ol' Dirty take on the "Dirt McGirt" persona. The episode played like a Blaxploitation film which was reminiscent of Rudy Ray Moore and saw ODB as a stand-up comedian as he prepared his debut solo album. Criminology, the second allegorical episode, saw Raekwon and Ghostface as crime bosses and even featured a "Frank White" character who represented The Notorious B.I.G.

Ghost and Rae pushed their "Purple Tape" as the new drug on the street in preparation for Rae's classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Season 2 episode 6 also contained a highly creative theme when it featured a highly creative breakdown of RZA's sampling techniques. Season 3 concludes Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
