Rakim is set to join the Illmarmonic Orchestra for a one night only show in the nation's capital. The orchestra promises "strings, horns, woodwinds & a pianist" combined with a great performance by the God MC. The Illharmonic Orchestra combines the raw energy and passion of Hip-Hop, with the beautiful sounds of live, orchestral accompaniment. With over 25 years of performance experience, the ensemble has rocked on such hallowed stages as: Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Kimmel Center, The Apollo Theatre and more.

In other Rakim news, he recently told Rock The Bells in an exclusive interview that we can expect new music soon. "Right now I'm working on a couple of projects," he revealed. "I'm working on an album and some solo projects on the side. I'm actually taking a lot of time form touring this year to do some studio work. I have a lot I wanna say, and I wanna get back into the studio and express myself."
