Mr. Cheeks of The Lost Boyz sat down with Rock the Bells recently and discussed his love for his hometown, Queens.

"We got the coliseum, we got Jamaica Avenue," the "Lights Camera Action" rapper said. "Shout out to everyone who raised me from Queens — 'Preme Team and all of them boys. You know just growin' up and bein' a part of South Jamaica, Queens all the way over to Astoria all my family over there too."

He then described what sets the borough apart from others. "I mean Queens is beautiful man, the homes, the projects, the streets and all that. The LB family comes from Queens, so you know that makes a difference.

Cheeks spoke to the musical tradition coming out of Queens as well. "From Grandmaster Vic to LL COOL J and Run-D.M.C. MC Shan and cats like that made me wanna get in the game, and shout out to Nas. The first time that I heard Hip-Hop was on a Grandmaster Vic tape," he said of the legendary producer/DJ. "It was a dude named Spank G rhymin'. Grandmaster Vic is the king of the blends. I'm happy to be reppin' Queens all day every day."
