The newly reunited 3rd Bass appears on an upcoming episode of DRINK CHAMPS, where MC Serch reveals the origins of the term Gas Face. The term which is the title of one of the group's most popular songs originates from Serch's crew he says, which includes Daniel Dumile (MF DOOM). "Before 3rd Bass, I used to hang out in Long Beach, Long Island," he explains. "There was a crew called GYP, which became my crew.

We would all get our hair cut by this kid named Subroc, and Daniel Dumile [was his brother]. At the time DOOM's name was Zev Love X, and we had a term around our little crew called The Gas Face. It was the face that girls made when we'd go to the mall and try to get a number. We'd say tha we spent all that gas money to get that face. We just condensed it to Gas Face."
