Lupe Fiasco recently connected with Ja Rule backstage at a show, where he immediately proceeded to explain how much Ja's music meant to him when he was coming up.

“This all I need right here,” Lupe said as the two greeted each other. “Listen, I grew up on Ja Rule, you feel me? I don’t give a fuck what no muthafucka say. They asked me who’s my favorite rapper, who I was listening to when I was coming up … give me Venni, Vetti, Vecci, n-gga. Give me muthafuckin’ Pain Is Love over anything n-gga. I don’t give a fuck. Give me [Rule] 3:36 over anything. Fuck these n-ggas, feel me? I’m bumpin’ Ja n-gga, fuck you!”

Late last year, Ja Rule spoke to ROCK THE BELLS about one of his newest ventures beyond making hit music, his ICONN Live app and ICONN Media, a live streaming entertainment marketplace.

"It's a live streaming platform with an app and a network coming to the Apple TV store, Android TV and all Tivo's," he explained. "I saw a need for what I've currently built during the pandemic... I felt like this would be the next thing, even after COVID. How the content creators create and own their own content I knew that would be it, then lo and behold Web 3 is now the new thing that everybody is on because it's all about owning your own content and content creators monetizing that. That's what my platform was built for and that's really what it's all about."
