2 Chainz and Lil Wayne may be about to connect on a new collaboration project. 2 Chainz teased that music could be on the way soon, saying that he'd been in the studio with Wayne "all night" and that he's "excited about our project."

The pair previously connected on 2016's Collegrove (a combination of the areas they represent, College Park and Hollygrove). Even though the album was technically listed as a 2 Chainz solo project due to label issues with Wayne, it peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200.

Lil Wayne recently drew high praise from rap legend Ice Cube.

"His metaphors are other worldly," the "It Was A Good Day" rapper said. "Just an amazing talent. As far as lyrics and can make hits, has been copied. All these dudes are nothing but clones of Lil Wayne at the end of the day."

No word yet on when 2 Chainz and Wayne's collab project will arrive.
