Peter Rosenburg of Hot 97 announced on March 24th that there is a possibility that Jay-Z is in the studio working on new material. “I’ve had multiple people say things to me about certain producers who are well known and loved being in the studio with perhaps the most iconic rap artist of all time,” Rosenburg stated.

“I’m talking about Jay-Z," he continued. “What I'm gathering from different conversations, it sounds like Hov’s back in the lab, and it sounds like he’s trying to do something. He has a purpose.”

On March 22nd Hov dropped a “woke” freestyle in Hartford Connecticut, dressed in a tux and backed by a full live band. “Okay gentrify your own hood before these people do it/playin’ imminent domain and have your people movin’/that’s a small glimpse into what Nipsy was doin/for anybody still confused about what he was doin’.”
