Pusha T's McDonald's diss (on behalf of Arby's) has kept social media buzzing this week. In the diss, Pusha paid homage to Jay Z’s 2001 lyric “I could sell water to a whale” from the track “U Don’t Know" from Jay's classic album The Blueprint. The homage prompted journalist Sowmya Krishnamurthy to reach out to the song's producer Just Blaze to get clarity on whether the correct lyric is "whale" or "...could sell water to a well."

She tweeted: “I’m bugging. Did I have ‘U don’t know’ wrong for all these years?! So I had to ask Jay-z. Was his line A: ‘I’ll sell water to a WHALE’. B:’Ill sell water to a WELL’ C: Both. Her his response! Haaa!! @sc x @JustBlaze.”

Krishnamurthy shared Just Blaze’s response along with Hov’s answer. “Well/Whale. It’s never a coincidence when these things happen. I try to make things work on multiple levels every time I sit down to create. It keeps me engaged” Jay replied. The double entendre is a testament to the poetic value contained in most of what Jay writes.

I sell ice in the winter, I sell fire in Hell /I am a hustler baby, I'll sell water to a whale /I was born to get cake, move on and switch states/cop the coupe with the roof gone and switch plates
