Gene "Groove" Allen Of Groove B. Chill And 'House Party' Has Died At 62

Brentwood, Long Island MC, actor and entrepreneur Gene "Groove" Allen has died at age 62. As a member of Groove B. Chill, Allen was introduced to Hip-Hop on the late Andre Harrell's 1986 Uptown's Kickin' It compilation. He would gain even more notoriety as the drunken party goer with the 40 once in House Party (1990) and House Party 2 (1991). He also appeared in 1992's Boomerang.

Groove B. Chill consisted of Allen, Belal "DJ Belal" Miller, and Daryl "Chill" Mitchell who is now an award winning actor. Their 1990 A&M Records debut, Starting From Zero contained the hit "Hip-Hop Music". In recent years Groove launched a voice over and podcast career and has been active as an online personality.
