On the new A&E documentary, Ol' Dirty Bastard: A Tale Of Two Dirtys, Funkmaster Flex shared his views on Dirty's demise. "Dame Dash and Roc-A-Fella was the worst thing to ever happen to that guy," he said. "Ol' Dirty was a trophy to them. I don't know whose idea it was to sign him. If you care about [him], you know its not a good idea to give this guy a million dollars."
Concerning the $1 million dollar advance that ODB reportedly received for signing with Roc-A-Fella, Dame says that he deserved more. "A million dollars isn't a lot of money, I think he deserved more," he said. "Based on the records he sold we'd make that back. That's gold." According to Dirty's widow Icelene Jones, the family never saw any of the money from the advance. "The million dollars is a mystery. Me and my children never saw a dime of that money," she said.
