Rock The Bells was on hand for the premiere of the A&E documentary Ol' Dirty Bastard: A Tale Of Two Dirtys' at L.A.'s Grammy Museum earlier this week. The special screening was attended by Wu-Tang founder and producer, The RZA, ODB's son Young Dirty Bastard, Dirty's wife Icelene Jones, Dante Ross who signed ODB to Elektra Records, actor TJ Atoms (who portrayed ODB in Wu-Tang An American Saga), Fatlip of The Pharcyde and many more.

At the star studded event which included a panel comprised of ODB's children and his widow, A&R man Dante Ross recalled his first encounter with the "Got Your Money" MC. "My first encounter with him was amazing," Ross recalled. "He showed up with RZA, Inspectah Deck, and Divine, who I never saw again. My idea was to make Method Man and ODB a group like EPMD, and that quickly got kicked to the curb by RZA."

After the screening, an emotional RZA declined to be part of the discussion panel citing the effect that the doc had on him. "I'm not gonna stay for the panel, I have too many emotions running through my head," he told the panel's host before embracing Dirty's widow and son.

The Pharcyde's Phatlip revealed to Jake Rohn of Rock The Bells that "All Live" from the group's sophomore album Labcabincalifornia did not actually contain vocals from Dirty. "I gotta clear something up, that's not ODB on that song," he explained. "Imitation is the highest form of flattery. We were in the studio, probably after the last Wu-Tang album. We were listening to it, and that take made the album. We were basically just paying tribute."

Actor TJ Atoms who portrayed ODB in Wu-Tang an American saga.

Ol' Dirty Bastard: A Tale Of Two Dirtys is co-directed by Emmy and Peabody Award-winning Director Sam Pollard with his son Jason Pollard, providing an intimate picture of ODB’s life and reflecting on his lasting impact on music and culture.

The television premiere happens on 8/25 on the A&E network. "With exclusive rights to a never-before-seen personal archive shot by his wife, Icelene Jones, and access to his closest friends and family, this culture-defining special humanizes ODB as a man, a father, and a husband like never before," states A&E.
