Dr. Dre and Angie Martinez are set to get stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2024. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2024 on Monday (June 26).
Chadwick Boseman and legendary soul singer Otis Redding will both receive posthumous stars, while other honorees include Marvel boss Kevin Feige, actress Gal Gadot, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Chris Meledandri, Chris Pine, Christina Ricci, Michelle Yeoh. Ken Jeong, Eugene Levy, Mario Lopez, Jim Nantz, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Michael Schur, Kerry Washington, and Raúl De Molina and Lili Estefan, Glen Ballard, Toni Braxton, Def Leppard, Charles Fox, Sammy Hagar, Brandy Norwood, Darius Rucker and Gwen Stefani, and Jane Krakowski will also receive a stars in the 2024 class. Additionally, tennis star Billie Jean King and Carl Weathers will also earn stars.
“The Selection Committee which is made up of fellow Walk of Famers, carefully hand-picks a group of honorees each year that represent various genres of the entertainment world," said Chair and Walk of Famer Ellen K, "The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can't wait to see each honoree's reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood's history with the unveiling of their star on the world's most famous walkway!"
Dr. Dre is the latest Hip-Hop star to be honored by the Walk of Fame. Salt-N-Pepa, Ludacris, and Ice-T have all also recently earned stars. Most recently, 2Pac posthumously received a star on the Walk of Fame. West Coast radio icon Big Boy presented the star alongside Tupac's sister, Sekyiwa "Set" Shakur, who said she was "proud" to represent her brother. The star ceremony held special significance, coinciding with what would have been Tupac's 52nd birthday on June 16.
