Hip-Hop legend Ice-T is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Ice-T, whose debut album Rhyme Pays arrived in 1987, has been a fixture in Hip-Hop for decades. In 1988, he dropped his classic album, Power, further displaying his hardwon perspective and influencing a slew of artists who'd arise from the west coast. By the late 80s and early 90s, Ice-T had ventured into film and television, led by his natural onscreen charisma. His breakout role came in 1990 when he starred in Mario Van Peebles' classic, New Jack City. He followed up the role with a number of films including Ricochet, Trespass, and Johnny Mnemonic.
However, his biggest role to date is his starring role on the hit NBC series Law & Order: SVU, where he plays detective Sergeant Odafin "Fin" Tutuola. Not only is SVU the longest-running primetime drama series of all time, but Ice-T is also the longest-running male actor in a TV series for his role.
Ice-T went on Instagram to share the news. "When I think back about all the times I was arrested in Hollywood... This is a trip," he captioned the announcement.
