In a series of promotional interviews for Kings From Queens, the upcoming documentary chronicling the lives and careers of Run-DMC, DMC has shared what viewing the 3-part documentary means to the group. When asked by Daily Blast Live how he feels looking back at what Run-DMC has accomplished, DMC provides an interesting answer.

"I've never realized what Run-DMC accomplished," he said. "Run used to always say that everybody got to experience what Run-DMC was doing, but we didn't because we were the ones doing it. When this documentary airs, I'm able to sit back, and not only look at myself and my accomplishments, but I'm able to partake in the experience of what Run-DMC was able to represent and leave open for everyone else to experience."

In a sit down with New York Live, DMC said: "When you look at the documentary everyone from Ice T, to Chuck D of Public Enemy, MC Lyte, Eminem, and Jermaine Dupri talk about [how we influenced them]. We now get to see what they experienced."

In their recent press run the duo has been very transparent about the influence of the first generation of MC's. "I remember listening to Spoonie Gee's, Spoonin' Rap, and "It's Us" by The Cold Crush Brothers. We listened to those songs dreaming about making our own stuff," Run shared in a clip from the the documentary.

"There were no rap records yet," Run shared in an interview with Today. "We would get tapes from Manhattan with the Cold Crush versus the Fantastic 5 with Grandwizzard Theodore and Grandmaster Caz. Those were our heroes."

Run-DMC's 3-part documentary debuts on Peacock on 2/1 and features Ice-T, LL COOL J, MC Lyte, Jermaine Dupri, Ice Cube, Questlove, Beastie Boys, Chuck D., Salt, Tom Morello, Doug E. Fresh, Big Daddy Kane, Ed Lover, and more.
