Summertime reliably brings three things— sun, day parties, and a new Fast & the Furious movie.
The new trailer for the franchise's tenth entry, Fast X, is here, and boy is there a lot going on. Of course, the expected car explosions and elaborate wild car chases are present, along with what seems like a pretty dope fight scene between Fast star Michelle Rodriguez and Charlize Theron's Cipher.
It also seems like every action movie star or working actor today is present — Jason Momoa stars as the crew's nemesis and franchise players Vin Diesel, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, and Tyrese Gibson all return, along with Jason Statham. Rita Moreno and Helen Miren also appear in the film, where it seems as if the stakes are even higher, and the tone is a little heavier than in previous entries. Momoa's character is playing no games as he menacingly utters, "Never accept death when suffering is owed." All of the robust action is fittingly soundtracked by a nice cut of Biggie and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's 1997 classic, "Notorious Thugs."
“Without telling you too much about what happens in the future, there’s a character who is the antithesis of Dom who is promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that with that goes your freedom,” Diesel told Variety. “There is somebody that believes that’s the future, and that’s at direct odds with the Toretto mentality.”
