Shawna Kenney is the author of Live at the Safari Club: A History of HarDCore Punk in the Nation’s Capital (Rare Bird), Imposters (Mark Batty Publishers), Book Lovers (Seal Press), and the award-winning memoir I Was a Teenage Dominatrix (Last Gasp). She has covered punk rock, hip hop, porn stars, sword swallowers, graffiti writers, groupies, gardeners, wrestlers, skateboarders and more for numerous outlets, including Playboy, Narratively, Bust Magazine, Ms., Vice, The New York Times and more. She lives in Los Angeles and refuses to drive.
