Swizz Beatz is calling on T.I. and Rick Ross for a "King of The South" Verzuz battle.
In an Instagram Live with his Verzuz co-founder, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz said Rick Ross has said he's down for the song battle and the decision lies with T.I.
“Rick Ross said he wanted T.I.,” Swizz Beatz said. “Rick Ross and Tip. Battle of the south. Crown of the south. King of the south. T.I., talk to me... Ross you can fly your plane to the party.”
T.I.'s debut album, I'm Serious, arrived in 2001 though his landmark project arrived a few years later with 2003's Trap Muzik. Both rappers grew an underground fanbase via mixtapes before experiencing mainstream success — Ross' breakthrough album came in 2006 with Port of Miami. The pair have collaborated regularly throughout the years, including on the standout "Maybach Music III" featuring Jadakiss and Erykah Badu from Ross' 2010 album, Teflon Don.
