On a recent Breakfast Club episode, Swizz Beatz discussed an upcoming Verzuz documentary, new music and his friend and collaborator, the late DMX.

"It don't even feel like he's gone,"he said. "It feels like he's just away somewhere chillin'. The anniversary [of his death] comes around and I'm like, 'whoa.' Or I speak to his fiancé or son, and I'm like, 'whoa.'"

Swizz explains that reality kicks in when he scrolls through his phone and sees pictures or videos. "The thing that makes me feel easy about it is that he came to me. I seen him in my dreams, and it was like super quick, and he let me know he was good."

Swizz Beatz recently released an his highly anticipated project, Hip Hop 50 Vol. 2, a follow up to DJ Premier's volume 1 released last year. The project includes collaborations with Nas, Lil Wayne (who was featured on volume 1), Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, Jay Electronica, Lil Durk, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Fivio Foreign and Scar Lip.

Swizz also spoke to the Breakfast Club about new music. "I'm not just gonna do the 'Hip Hop 50' and then go quiet," he said. "I'm not stoppin'. I got like four more projects coming up [not counting Scar Lip]. I wanna keep the songs sweet and short, like 6 or 7 songs."
