Season 3 of the acclaimed series Godfather of Harlem starring Forest Whitaker premieres on Jan. 15, and ahead of the release Swizz Beatz teamed up with Jadakiss to drop "Hustle Repeat" from the series soundtrack.
The track is co-produced by Swizz and Avenue Beatz and features always quotable Jadakiss rapping lines like, “I was ready for war, I got my cream up / They couldn’t do nothing with me, they had to team up / Treat the shottie like Scottie, I had to beam up / I done a lot and I see much.”
In an interview with the Grammys, Swizz, who created the opening theme for the show, explained his creative process for creating music that represents the show's universe.
“The whole concept was to make the music have the heritage of the time period, but also give it a ‘today’ handshake,” the super producer said. “It’s like meeting heritage with today.”
