Sticky Fingaz of Onyx recently sat down with the Holdin’ Court Podcast and spoke about a number of things, including his friendships with both Dr. Dre and Eminem. The rapper/actor discussed his 2001 solo project Black Trash: The Autobiography of Kirk Jones, which was on Universal Records, but should have been on Aftermath, according to Sticky. He also revealed that Dr. Dre offered him 1 million dollars to sign with Aftermath, but “Jimmy Iovine said ‘wait a minute the last album only went gold. Let’s give him $500,000.”

Universal heard his material and offered him $800,000, and he signed and bought his mother her first house with the extra $300,000, Sticky explained.

“Dre always held me down. Even though I went with Universal..."

“We still recorded songs and he put me on Eminem’s album [The Marshall Mathers LP]," Sticky says. "Which sold 16 million copies. I got a million dollars for a 24-bar verse.” Sticky says that the song in question, (“Remember Me”) which also featured RBX, was originally for Dr. Dre’s album. Eminem liked it so much that he wanted it for his project. Sticky also recalled Eminem doing the hook for “What If I was White” from Black Trash.

“Em told me that he owed me a favor since I bodied his song ('Remember Me') and he only gave me a chorus. I’m coming to collect, Mr. Slim Shady.”
