Former Bad Boy recording artist Shyne's name has been making the rounds in Hip-Hop since his performance on Sunday night's BET Awards as part of a Puff Daddy Tribute.
Shyne saw big success on Bad Boy in the wake of the murder of Notorious B.I.G., but after a nightclub shooting, he was sentenced to a decade in prison in 2001. After his 2009 release, the "Bad Boyz" rapper was deported to his native Belize where he now holds a position in the country's House of Representatives. Shyne spoke to Revolt on the BET Awards red carpet about his transition from rapper to politician.
"It was a miraculous journey," he said, "but certainly part of who I've always been. I've always been [a] servant to my fellow men and women. I've always been a leader, a visionary and activist."
