Run The Jewels have announced a new tour in celebration of their 10th anniversary.
RTJX is a series of live concert events in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and LA, where for four nights in each city, Killer Mike and El-P will perform the four albums spanning their entire career with a different set list each night.
“It’s mind blowing to us that it’s been 10 years since we joined forces as RTJ," Mike and El said in a statement. "The best way we can think to celebrate is to get the whole family together and do what we love for the people who love us back. It’s going to be amazing, just like this entire ride has been, and we are grateful to get a chance to celebrate with our jewel runners this year and finally get back into clubs to destroy some stages for you. We’re doing 4 cities, 4 nights each, and 4 full albums worth of jams, many we have only performed a small handful of times during our whole existence. So on night one it's RTJ1 in full plus many more songs from the other records, night two it's RTJ2... etc. etc. We can’t wait to get out there and see you.“
RTJ arguably has one of the best four-album runs in Hip-Hop, anchored by Mike's perspective and skill and El's pounding, sometimes slinking production. In addition to celebrating 10 years with RTJ, Mike also has plans to release a solo project this year, Michael. He teased the project during SXSW.
Tickets for RTJ's shows go on sale to the general public on Friday, but the Jewel Runner presale starts at 10 a.m. local time tomorrow, Wednesday, March 29th.
