Rakim Speaks On His Unreleased Music With Dr. Dre

In a recent interview with TMZ, Rakim spoke briefly about the unreleased music that he created with Dr. Dre. When asked about whether there was a Dre project still in the vaults, Ra revealed: "Yeah I got a couple, but I was talking to Dre, and he told me don't tell nobody what's goin' on, so I cant tell nobody."

Rakim told Hard Knock TV in 2009 that his project with Dr, Dre, Oh My God was shelved due to creative differences. "An example is if Dre said, 'yo Ra I want you to talk about killin' somebody on this one, and I say, nah I wanna talk about bringin' somebody to life on this one'. Dre has a formula, he's been doin' what he does for years, it just so happens what I do is a little different than what Dre does."

"Be Ill",the lead single from God's Network, Ra's first new album in 15 years is now available and features Kurupt and Masta Killa. Rakim produced the track and performed the cuts and scratches, as he did with the seven songs that comprise the highly anticipated album.

Rakim is no stranger to production, and in an interview with King Crooked he revealed that he produced much of the music in his catalog. "I think 80 percent of the catalog I produced," he said. "Comin' up it looked good for the group if people thought that Eric B did the beats, and I was doin' the rhymes, so I never said nothin'".
