Pusha-T and Arby's Drop Diss Song Aimed at McDonald's

In 2002, Pusha T, along with his brother Malice, Pharrell Williams, and Justin Timberlake, had a hand in creating the now iconic Mcdonald’s jingle, heard in the fast-food restaurant's commercial for the past two decades.

20 years later, it looks like the Virginia rapper has beef with the world-famous fast-food chain, as he has dropped a diss track aimed towards one of McDonald's most popular sandwiches, the Filet-O-Fish.

The track was released on Monday (March 21) in support of Arby’s new Crispy Fish sandwich. The song spans just over one minute as Push raps, “I’m the reason the whole world love it/Now I gotta crush it/Filet-O-Fish is shit, and you should be disgusted/How dare you sell a square fish asking us to trust it/A half slice of cheese, Mickey D’s on a budget?”

In true Pusha T style, the Clipse emcee makes a cocaine reference at the tail end of the track. “Our fish tips the scale,” he says.

Pusha T claims he has not seen a dime of publishing after crafting one of McDonald’s most popular jingles ever. In a 2018 interview with Drink Champs, he spoke on the deal, saying he “took a super L.”

“Just upfront, no publishing. Shoutout to [former music executive] Steve Stoute, he gave me the check, and I was like ‘Ahhh great’… I want artists to know that part. Keep your publishing. That check will be nice, but ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ been running for how long now? I did This in ’03. Who knows what it would have been.”
