Nipsey Hussle left an honorable legacy behind after his untimely passing in March 2019. Friends, family, and collaborators continue to remember the West Coast emcee, staying true to his mantra of “the marathon continues.”

On Monday (May 16), Nipsey Hussle’s estate announced the upcoming documentary, The Marathon (Cultivation), chronicling the artist's life and career, from Neighborhood Crip hustler to the beloved musician, entrepreneur, and activist in his community of South Central, Los Angeles.

Hussle’s family held a special screening event on the rooftop of the brand new Marathon Clothing store on Melrose in L.A. In addition to following his life, the documentary also digs into the history behind Nipsey and his older brother Sam Asghedom's million-dollar cannabis strain, Marathon OG.

“We’ve been in the marijuana business for a minute, illegally,”  Asghedom said during the screening. “We always had our eyes on a legit license, and we wanted to put together something that explains the journey.”

At the screening event, The Marathon Clothing company premiered the latest Nipsewy x Puma collaboration, offering guests an opportunity for pre-release purchase.

The screening event was also a celebration of the future opening of The Marathon (Collective) store in Canoga Park on June 18. The new store is being presented as the premier shop for various THC and CBD products.

According to The Marathon’s official Instagram, The Marathon (Cultivation) is set to be officially released on May 20. Stay tuned for more information on the film, and stay tuned for more classic Hip-Hop news.
