Zion Williamson Says Listening to Biggie Helped Him Overcome Adversity

New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson said that it was The Notorious B.I.G. who got him through hard times when he needed motivation.

The NBA power forward pointed to the iconic rapper's classic 1994 debut album, Ready to Die, as his inspiration, especially after he had to set out the 2021-22 season due to an injury.

“That record, in terms of poetry, how he dealt with the sensation of having the weight of the world on your shoulders, and how he wrote about stress…" Williamson said, according to Twelfth Man Times. "You are experiencing the feeling that you are all by yourself. My perspective transformed, and I was able to find actual determination in the game as a result of listening to the record. I have been through a lot in the past year and a half, despite the fact that I am only 22 years old."
