Money-B: "2Pac Was Laser Focused – I've Never Seen Anybody Work Like That"

Money-B of Bay Area groups Digital Underground and Raw Fusion recently spoke with Rock The Bells for Rock The Bells Radio's All City: Bay Area Day about all things Bay Area including the late Tupac.

"His work ethic is unlike anything that I've seen since," he remembered. "I know what work ethic looks like because he was super focused and he worked super hard. I've never seen anybody work that hard when it comes to writing songs and being laser-focused on what he wanted to do and how he wanted to get the most out of things. It was Shock G on the production side and 2Pac on the writing side and neither one of them would leave the studio until things were sounding exactly how we wanted them to sound."

Money-B spoke with Rock The Bells about 2Pac's musical input in Digital Underground last year.

"For him to be new to it, it was all calculated," Money B said. "He had it all planned out. He would write out his set list, the titles, what they mean. He was ready for it. He knew exactly what he wanted to say, he knew exactly what he wanted people to get from his music. He had the plan. In real-time, you didn't think about it because we were all doing the same thing. In hindsight, it was pretty amazing." In addition to Tupac being a dancer with Digital Underground, he collaborated with the group on his 1993 hit, 'I Get Around.'"
