Memphis Rap legends Eightball & MJG were honored with a street renaming in the Orange Mound community where they grew up, on Saturday (09/28). Memphis city leaders issued a resolution that renamed Park Avenue as MJG Avenue, and Airways Boulevard as 8 Ball Boulevard. "Aye look, the significance of that corner is that MJG lived his first 18 years of his life on Sample Street right there at Park Avenue and Airways," said Eightball. "MJG Avenue? Literally, he grew up right there."

“Across this country when they talk about Memphis, they’re gonna mention Elvis, but they’re also gonna mention 8ball & MJG,” said JB Smiley, Memphis City Council Chairman. “We appreciate y’all. We love y’all and keep on putting on for the city of Memphis." The duo grew up together, meeting in middle school, and released eight studio albums including Comin Out Hard, and On The Outside Looking In. Congrats Eightball & MJG!
