Cash Money Records Founders Birdman And Slim To Be Honored With New Orleans Street Naming

The city of New Orleans will honor Cash Money Records founders Bryan "Baby" Williams aka Birdman and his brother Ronald "Slim" Williams with a street naming on 7/3. The street where the siblings once lived, the intersection of Saratoga St. and Erato St., will now be christened “Honorary Williams Brothers Way.The ceremony is scheduled to take place onsite at the intersection between 1:30- 2:30PM.

"As former mayor of New Orleans, I’m extremely proud of the street being named in honor of Baby and Slim, CEOs of Cash Money Records," said Marc H. Morial, National Urban League President & CEO. "Their contributions to the music industry and their impact on our community have been immense, shaping the cultural landscape and providing opportunities for countless artist that hail from the Crescent City!”

Since 1991 Bryan and Ronald Williams have built Cash Money Records into a legendary force in the music industry. The duo founded the legendary label in the New Orleans housing projects and elevated it into a multi-million-dollar empire and cultural taste maker. The company revered as an iconic and enduring global street brand, and has become the most successful independent record label in America, boasting a bevy of chart-dominating, multi-platinum artists and Grammy Award winners and cumulative sales over 100 million albums worldwide.
