Masta Ace and Marco Polo Drop New Video For 'PPE'

Masta Ace and Marco Polo have just released the video for "PPE", the third single from their latest collaborative project Richmond Hill. The video is directed by Ezru Gonzalez, and finds Ace and Marco taking a tour through their home neighborhood of Brooklyn, and also offers a nice easter egg for longtime fans of Ace, as he returns to the famous stoop from the cover of his classic 2004 album A Long Hot Summer.

PPE is an acronym for "poor people everywhere". The song finds Ace describing a sick society, lamenting the hard world that chews up and spits out those who don't have the means to protect themselves, spitting over haunting, piano-led production from Marco Polo that features a thematic sample - "Junkies, pushers, everywhere/Poor people everywhere."

Ace and Polo describe the 18-track project as “A cinematic journey that explores how the past echoes through the present.” The album features guest appearances from many notable and respected names in Hip-Hop, including Inspectah Deck, Coast Contra, Blu, Che Noir, and Speech of Arrested Development.

Masta Ace's longtime collaborators Stricklin and Wordsworth, also make appearances. Produced fully by Marco Polo, Richmond Hill continues where A Bruekelen Story left off. While the prequel focused on Marco Polo's life in the big city and his attempts to enter the rap game, Richmond Hill is inspired by his childhood in the nominal neighborhood, a small town in Ontario, just outside of Toronto.
