Logic recently released a cover of Ice Cube's 1992 classic, "It Was A Good Day," and people had thoughts.

“Logic, I beg of you, I’m pleading with you. Please join me in retirement,” Joe Budden said after the track was released. “Never step near a recording device again. Throw your phone in the ocean. Be allergic to microphones. Promise your fans nothing.”

However, Logic isn't sweating it. He went on TikTok to let folks know that not only is he unconcerned with the criticism, he actually received a positive nod from Ice Cube himself, which he revealed while responding to a fan who suggested he do an entire cover album of rap classics.

“It’s funny you should say that because I thought about doing that," Logic said. "Wouldn’t that be cool? Everybody’s all pissed off at me because I did a fucking Ice Cube cover. Meanwhile, I texted Ice Cube and he’s like, ‘Man, keep on doing you brother.’ Like, who gives a fuck? Who gives a fuck? You’re right. I should do a whole fucking album, and just do a whole album of fucking hard-ass 90s records and call it Logic Greatest Hits, and get all them paid, and publishing, and take care of all the legends and the GOATs and the greats from the 90s. And fucking do a covers album. Who gives a fuck?”

Logic's most recent album, College Park, dropped last month. The album features Bun B, RZA, Redman, and Statik Selektah and more. Check out his laid-back cover of Cube's classic below.
