Quad Recording Studios, located right off the beaten path of Times Square, where some of Hip-Hop's legends (such as The Notorious B.I.G.) created rap masterpieces. Tonight, Lloyd Banks graced Quad Studios to hold his listening party for his new album, The Course of the Inevitable 2. Banks released The Course of the Inevitable last year, which included Styles P, Freddie Gibbs, Vado, and Benny The Butcher; and walking into the listening party at Quad Studios, you were immediately greeted with anticipatory energy of fans, journalists and industry notables who packed the room waiting for Banks’ to enter the spacious studio.

Guests drank (what seemed to be an unlimited supply of) the popular cognac, D’usse and ate catered Caribbean food; all whilst waiting for Banks' arrival. Music from his past projects filled the room. The energy in the room felt exciting, mainly because Banks’ is not known to do many public appearances nor interviews due to his fairly introverted nature. After Banks' arrival, some journalists and industry notables were escorted to the dim lit recording room located in the studio to listen to the 45-minute album. Banks sat in the middle of the room, on a couch, occasionally nodding his head to different songs on the album like “Menace,” which features Conway the Machine.

Though Banks’ was not giving interviews, his producer/studio engineer, Pat Viala, sat down with ROCK THE BELLS to talk about the project. Viala began working with Banks’ 10 years ago, while the rap legend from Queens was still with G-Unit.

“Banks’ is always prepared, prompt, and professional,” says Viala; and it's one of the reasons the sound engineer enjoys working with the rap star. “With this project, we’re all older, he has two kids now, and you can see the things that he’s talking about and the direction that he’s bringing the content. You can see the progression in life."

Viala says that it’s refreshing to see the growth in Banks’ because he’s known him for so long. “Seeing him get to this point and everyone here hearing everything, I’m happy to see everyone’s reaction and how they’re receiving it." Viala enjoyed working on this album with Banks because there are so many songs that listeners can resonate with on the 14-track album.

The Course of the Inevitable 2 is set to be released publicly this Friday, July 15.
