The GOAT returns with THE FORCE, a 14 song project entirely produced by Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest, with features from Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Saweetie, Busta Rhymes, Nas, Eminem, and Gambian singer Sona Jobarteh. THE FORCE is LL's first album in more than a decade, and his swords are as sharp as ever.

Following the previously released singles "Saturday Night Special", "Passion", and "Proclivities", THE FORCE (an acronym for Frequencies Of Real Creative Energies)sees LL return to his more lyrically driven earlier releases, while updating his flow, delivering a project that sounds and feels both classic and current.

The album starts off with the Snoop Dogg assisted "Spirit Of Cyrus", which was inspired by LL's striking resemblance to an ex law enforcement officer who was killed by police for allegedly going rogue. LL writes a manifesto of sorts from the point of view of the ex officer, while Snoop provides the hook.

"Black Code Suite" features LL paying homage to his African American roots with Tip and Sona Jobarteh providing the hooks. "Spice in the hot sauce, crispy on the chicken screen door slammin' and the young boy crippin'" L spits over a mid tempo island flavored track.

The album's title track, THE FORCE which was previously aired on LL COOL J's Rock The Bells Radio on Sirius XM contains interpolations of Michael Jackson's 1979 hit "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" and a synth heavy track with L flowing effortlessly.

Album standouts also include the uptempo "Murdergram Deux" featuring Eminem which finds the duo trading lighting fast bars. The song title originates from LL's 1990 release, "Murdergram" from his classic Mama Said Knock You Out.

The Nas collab "Praise Him" and "Huey In The Chair" with Busta Rhymes highlight LL's ability to flow with MC's from multiple generations, as does the closing track, "The Vow" which finds L recruiting up and coming MC's Mad Squablz, J -S.A.N.D., and Don Pablito. THE FORCE highlights LL's ability to adapt to the changes in music that have occured since his last release, while staying true to the energy that connected him to fans 4 decades ago.
