LL COOL J Discusses Writing The Hook For 'No Diggity' By Blackstreet

In a recent interview with Ebro, Laura Stylez, and Rosenburg, LL COOL J revealed that he wrote the hook for Blackstreet's 1996 gargantuan hit, "No Diggity". "I wrote the chorus for a remix that I was doing, and Teddy [Riley] incorporated it into the song," LL said. L said that he didn't pursue a credit because Teddy had been through so much in the music industry. "To be honest Teddy had already been through so much with different stuff," he explained.

Last week LL released the video for "Murdergram Deux" from his recently released album THE FORCE. The song features LL and Eminem trading rapid fire verses over a bouncy Q-Tip track, and the video pays homage to a couple of albums from Hip-Hop's golden era. In a recent Sirius XM listening session, LL spoke on the recording process for the song.

"When Q-Tip made the beat, I was like 'Yo me and Em would be crazy on this.' I sent him the beat, and once he heard the beat, me and Em went to Dr. Dre's studio. The way the process was, I would write my rhyme and lay it then leave. He would come in and hear it, I would leave and he would write his rhyme. We went back and forth in the booth without seeing each other record until we did the very last thing together."
