The Nappy Roots have released their new single, "Floatin' With The Wind". The song is the group’s take on Geto Boys’ classic “Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta”, honoring the fellow southern Hip-Hop group, and the visuals are inspired by the 1999 iconic film, Office Space - which brought commercial success to the Geto Boys. Vocals are provided by The Voice contestant, Cait Martin.

“With everything going on today, the world needs a song to sit back and relax to," says group member Skinny Deville. "Back in the 90s, that song was 'Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta', and now, "Floatin With The Wind" is our version of that. With this track, we also want to show that Hip-Hop is much more than beefs or dances on TikTok - it has been and continues to be a way for people to deal with what’s going on in their lives."

The artwork for the single is by none other than group member Fish Scales himself playing basketball at the group's alma mater, Western Kentucky University. Scales was there on scholarship, which he gave up to pursue his rap career with Skinny, Clutch, Stille (and Big V and Prophet at the time). "We all said that he looked like he was floating towards the basket which inspired the name for this song and ultimately, the cover art."
