Lil Wayne and Nelly Propose a 'Hip Hop vs Country' Celebrity B-Ball Game

On Thursday (9/22) Nelly and Lil Wayne went on Instagram live, where after a bit of confusion about how to work it, they discussed a possible celebrity basketball game consisting of Nelly's Country artists vs Wayne's Hip-Hop artists. They ultimately decided the winnings would be donated to charity.

After chopping it up about Wayne's Fantasy Football picks, he proposes that they should make the celebrity game happen. "You sound like you wanna do something," Wayne says. "I'm supposed to get all the Hip-Hop homies?"

Nelly then lays some important ground rules. "You can't be gettin' Shaq because he got a platinum record," he laughed. "Shaq is disqualified. Any NBA rappers are disqualified. We gettin' entertainer athletes, not athlete entertainers."

Wayne responded, " We might name our squad T.W.I.S.M. - The World is Mine named after Shaq's label."

Wayne says that he's coming in with Dame Dolla and he then asks, "Don't LeBron got a mixtape? I might just come with the King."

Nelly establishes some further parameters stating that any potential team members would have had to make their first million through rap. He said J. Cole was okay because he plays overseas now, but established himself as a rapper first. After sharing a laugh Nelly admits that he may be at a disadvantage.

"You got a long list that you can choose from!" he said. "Your pool is much bigger, it's like a 5A school going against a 2A school!"

2 Chainz, Dave East and The Game were also discussed as a potential player who would "dunk all over" any of Nelly's country ballers. Check out the interaction above.
