Fans were excited for a proposed Fugees reunion tour last year, but things fell through after only a handful of performances. The group canceled their highly-anticipated reunion tour, reportedly due to COVID concerns. According to Rolling Stone, a new report suggests that it was instead Pras Michel's legal problems that halted the show.
In 2019, Pras pleaded not guilty to federal conspiracy charges and falsifying records due to his role in a Malaysian wealth fund's campaign finance violations. He was amongst several people that the Justice Department identified as associates of Jho Low and 1MDB, a wealth fund that promotes economic development in Malaysia. Low is accused of stealing from the $4.5 billion slush fund, while Michel is accused of receiving a minimum of $8 million and as much as 40 million for assisting Low.
