Juvenile recently showed love to his "lil bro" and former Cash Money label mate, Lil Wayne, when the age old question — who's the greatest rapper of all-time— was brought up.

The New Orleans legend rejected Wayne's previously shared opinion that the title belongs to Jay-Z.

“We’ve argued over the years. He say JAY-Z the G.O.A.T., I say he the G.O.A.T.,” Juvenile said on the red carpet at the 2023 BMI R&B/Hip Hop Awards in Miami on Wednesday (September 6). “My lil’ bro the greatest rapper of all time. He know how I feel about that.”

Although Wayne has frequently listed Jay-Z as the greatest, he recently named his top 5, and the list was impressively diverse. Missy Elliott, UGK, Goodie Mob, The Notorious B.I.G., and Jay-Z round out his top 5. Although Wayne said this list wasn't in order, in an interview last year during Fox Sports’ What’s Wright? With Nick Wright podcast, he did say Missy was “always going to be first."

“She’s a huge influence of everything I’ve ever done.” Missy retweeted the clip and relayed her gratitude by writing, “Whenever @LilTunechi says my name in his interviews twitter don’t have enough space for my tosay my GRATEFULNESS because he is a LEGEND himself who birthed many emcees after him & as a man to acknowledge me as a big influence 4 him I send you love WAYNE.”

As for Juvenile, in addition to his incredible showing on NPR's Tiny Desk earlier this year, he recently made an appearance at LL COOL J's F.O.R.C.E. Tour, which is currently running through November.
