During a recent interview with Revolt, Joey Bada$$ expressed that he'd like to portray late Harlem MC Big L in a biopic.

"A Hip-Hop icon I'd love to play in a biopic would have to be Big L," said the Brooklyn rapper and actor. "I've heard many people in my career tell me how I favor him look-wise."

He went on to explain his admiration for the DITC legend. "Personally he's one of my favorite rappers to come out of the golden age — his story isn't well known enough, so I would love to bring his story to light worldwide."

TMZ spoke with Brian Shafton of RBC Records, which owns Big L's master recordings. Shafton thinks that the movie would be good for Big L's legacy, but because there are so many samples contained in the songs, "It would be near impossible to license all the tracks for a film."

Joey's 2020 Netflix film Two Distant Strangers received an Oscar for Best Short Live Action and his character Unique from Raising Kanan is one of the more popular villains on the show. Joey got his start in music as part of the Hip-Hop collective Pro Era and released his first solo effort, a mixtape titled 1999 in 2012. He started acting on 2016 with roles in Mr. Robot, Grown-ish and Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
